Continue and strengthen the Made in America Office

What has happened

   Two years in, the office is intact and doing the work the Quote wanted continued. The FY2027 Budget Appendix describes it as an operating component of OMB: "The OMB Made in America Office establishes standards and manages compliance with domestic content preferences in statute. It reviews agency waiver requests to assess consistency and compliance and establishes policies in an effort to ensure Federal funds are supporting domestic content and jobs." The President's Management Agenda of December 2025 lists "Rebuild American industry through prioritizing and enhancing Made in America execution" as a management priority goal. A continuation ask is done while the thing continues.

2. Feb 21, 2025 Partially done

   The Made in America Office was kept and lifted a rung. OMB's February 2025 announcement of senior appointees names Michael Stumo — previously chief executive of the Coalition for a Prosperous America — as "Associate Director for Economic Policy and the Made in America Office", which puts the office inside a Program Associate Director's portfolio rather than leaving it as a staff function. That is continuation, and the beginning of the strengthening the Quote asks for.
