OFCCP published three final rules the same day: the Executive Order 11246 regulations are rescinded (effective 2026-10-26), and the Section 503 and VEVRAA regulations are revised to drop their Executive Order 11246 cross-references (effective 2026-09-21). The office's contract-compliance mandate is gone, but the office is not — it issued these rules in its own name and remains the enforcer of Section 503 and VEVRAA, which are statutes the President cannot revoke.

Executive Order 14173, section 3(b)(ii), ordered OFCCP to "immediately cease" promoting diversity, holding contractors responsible for affirmative action, and allowing workforce balancing — stripping the office of the mission the Mandate says it exists for. The order did not abolish the office, which also enforces Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act and VEVRAA under statute.

- OFCCP still exists. Between 2025-07 and 2026-08 it filed eleven documents in the Federal Register under its own agency name, including information-collection renewals for the Section 503 and VEVRAA recordkeeping requirements (2026-01-07, 2026-04-23) and for the contractor discrimination complaint form (2026-01-02). An office that is renewing its OMB clearances is not abolished. That is why this is partial and not done.
- The Mandate’s own reasoning (“OFCCP exists to enforce EO 11246”) is now only half true: Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 793) and VEVRAA (38 U.S.C. 4212) are statutory, and eliminating the office outright would need Congress or at least a reorganization that moves those duties elsewhere. No such action was found.
