Printed page 163 5. Department of Homeland Security
“The Office of Partnership and Engagement should be merged into the Office of Public Affairs.”
What has happened
- Not started
The two offices are still separate. DHS's organizational chart published 2026-05-19 shows the Office of Partnership and Engagement and the Office of Public Affairs as distinct boxes, and DHS's Office of the Secretary page still lists Partnership and Engagement with its own mission of coordinating outreach to key stakeholders. No merger notice, delegation or reorganization announcement was found.

Research notes
Not started, with the Primary record of the unchanged structure in the Evidence. On the DHS organizational chart, the boxes reporting to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary are FLETC, S&T, I&A, PLCY, OGC, OIG, OSLLE, OHSSA, OPE, CWMD, OLA, OPA, the Management Directorate, the Privacy Office, the Office of Health Security, CISOMB, CRCL, the CFO, the CIO and the operating components.
Searched with the other asks on DHS headquarters reporting lines and management practice. Section 513 of Public Law 119-86 (2026-04-30) bars DHS from spending appropriated funds to exercise its section 872 reorganization authority without new congressional authorization, which is the legal reason most of the reorganization asks on these pages are stuck.
