The Renewable Fuel Standard is still inside the Office of Transportation and Air Quality. EPA reorganized the air office in 2025, creating the Office of Clean Air Programs and the Office of State Air Partnerships, and left the fuels program where it was; no suboffice parallel to OTAQ exists, no political appointee heads it, and no memorandum of understanding with the Departments of Agriculture and Energy has been published.

- EPA has been busy with the program itself — the 2026 and 2027 standards were finalized on 2026-04-01 — which is the program running inside OTAQ, not being pulled out of it.
