EPA reset who sits on the Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee without changing what it is asked to weigh. Administrator Zeldin named a chair and six new members on 2026-03-09, two of them from state air pollution control agencies, and said the committee would "help inform any actions to retain or revise the National Ambient Air Quality Standards". Neither that announcement nor any charter or charge published in the window directs CASAC to consider the social and economic effects of attainment and maintenance strategies.
