    Federal Student Aid issued a Dear Colleague Letter, "Changes to the Approval Process for Changing Accrediting Agencies", which states twice that it "supersedes GEN-22-10 and GEN-22-11". It re-establishes a light-touch reasonable-cause process, says the Department "has no power to interfere" with a state's authority over its public institutions, and cites the recent changes to Florida law by name - the outcome the Quote asks for. The Department's separate letters to accreditation agencies dated July 19, 2022 are not mentioned.

  • Partial because, when an ask names more than one object and only some are delivered, the ask is partial: two of the three named documents are superseded, the third (the July 19, 2022 letters to accreditors) is not addressed on any source we accept.
  • Executive Order 14279, “Reforming Accreditation To Strengthen Higher Education” (2025-04-23), is the policy behind the letter, and ED has since run an accreditation rulemaking (intent to negotiate 2026-01-27, initial-recognition rule 2026-02-27, NPRM 2026-08-20). None of those rescinds a Dear Colleague Letter.
  • The FSA Partners site search (fsapartners.ed.gov) returns the same 41,690-byte page, with no content, for every request; its results are drawn in the browser. What works is the site’s sitemap (two pages, ~16,200 addresses, 1,730 of them Dear Colleague Letters with dates and descriptive titles).
