Restart Advocacy regional roundtables and small-business visits

Done

Printed page 752 25. Small Business Administration

“Advocacy should organize regional roundtables, onsite small-business visits, and an online platform to hear directly from small businesses and entities as it did from June 2017 through September 2018.”

What has happened

  1. Done

All three things the Quote names are running. Advocacy's Region 8 Advocate held a roundtable with over 30 small businesses in Honolulu on 2026-03-09 — Advocacy's **49th state visit** — and "also visited three small businesses in the food and restaurant industries", with the feedback relayed to the White House, Congress and the agencies. The regional advocate network is staffed across nine regions, and the Red Tape Hotline is the online platform, taking submissions by form, email and phone at advocacy.sba.gov. Advocacy's newsroom carries 45 roundtable postings dated in 2025 and 2026.

  2. Partially done

Advocacy's own first-100-days report records the outreach program restarting: 16 manufacturing roundtables in seven states, 291 stakeholders met, 96 Red Tape Hotline requests reviewed and 85% of regional staff onboarded, against $48.1 billion in claimed regulatory cost savings since 2025-01-20. Roundtables and an online intake channel running; the state-by-state site-visit program not yet evidenced.

Research notes

  • done because the Quote lists three concrete activities — regional roundtables, onsite small-business visits, an online platform — and each is documented as operating, at a scale (49 states visited) beyond the June 2017 – September 2018 benchmark the Quote sets.
  • The Red Tape Hotline page carries no publication date of its own, so it is dated to the release that describes the program it belongs to; the hotline’s operation in the window is separately evidenced by the 100-days report’s count of 96 requests reviewed.
  • H.R. 4305, the DUMP Red Tape Act, would put the hotline in statute; it passed the House 269–146 on 2025-12-03 and is in Senate Small Business. It does not change this Status — the activity is already happening — but it is the statutory backstop, and it is the same bill named in #2043’s notes.
