The Department of Labor has not amended its hazardous occupations orders (29 CFR part 570, subparts E and E-1) to let trained teenagers work in regulated jobs with parental consent. One child-labor rulemaking is announced — RIN 1235-AA53, Hours of Work Standards for Young Workers, first published on the 2026 Unified Agenda with an NPRM scheduled for September 2026 — but its abstract limits it to "permissible hours of work" for 14- and 15-year-olds, not to the hazardous occupations orders.
