Establish an economic opportunity working group chaired by the DPC Director

Not started

Printed page 40 1. White House Office

“The President should establish an economic opportunity working group, chaired by the DPC Director, to coordinate the development of policies that promote economic opportunity.”

What has happened

  1. Not started

No economic opportunity working group. Searched the whitehouse.gov presidential-actions Corpus for every action whose title carries "working group", "opportunity", "domestic policy" or "economic council", the Federal Register's presidential documents since 2025-01-20, and the open web restricted to allowlisted domains for the phrase itself; nothing establishes such a body, and nothing puts the Domestic Policy Council Director in the chair of one. The administration has created White House working groups when it wanted them — the President's Working Group on Digital Asset Markets sits under the National Economic Council — so the absence here is a choice, not a formality. Dated to the start of the evidence window.

No action found yet. This entry is the starting point, not a finding.

Research notes

Researched 2026-08-27, with Chapter 1’s other White House asks.

Negative search, all clean:

  • White House presidential actions: a search of titles for “working group”, “opportunity”, “domestic policy” or “economic council” returns only EO 14173 (Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity), EO 14191 (Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families) and EO 14281 (Restoring Equality of Opportunity and Meritocracy). None establishes a working group.
  • Presidential documents in the Federal Register since 2025-01-20: no order or memorandum establishing an economic opportunity working group.
  • A web search restricted to whitehouse.gov, federalregister.gov, govexec.com, thehill.com and axios.com for the exact phrase “economic opportunity working group”: nothing. Other White House bodies do exist — the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets sits under the NEC — which shows the administration uses this form when it wants to; it simply has not used it here.
