File a new Section 230 petition for rulemaking at the FCC

The ask is squarely within the administration’s own gift — an executive-branch agency filing a petition at the FCC — and nothing was filed. The 2020 petition it points back to, NTIA’s RM-11862 of 2020-07-27, is still the only one.

How far this negative reaches, restated 2026-09-03 (read-queue ticket 04). The earlier note said www.fcc.gov answers 403 on every path. It does not — the site opens to the full browser header set, and https://www.fcc.gov/proposed-rulemakings was read directly: 138 dated entries, 2023-04-25 to 2026-06-09, with zero occurrences of “Section 230” and zero of “Big Tech”. But that index lists rulemakings the FCC has initiated, not petitions it has received, which is what this Quote asks about. fcc.gov/proceedings-actions/petitions-rulemaking and fcc.gov/petitions-rulemaking both redirect to the FCC’s own not-found page, fcc.gov/sitemap.xml does the same so the site cannot be enumerated, and FCC site search strips the query, so the Commission’s petitions-for-rulemaking index itself remains unread. What can be said, from the Federal Register and from the FCC’s own rulemaking index, is that no Section 230 petition has produced a rulemaking or a Federal Register document since 2025-01-20. That is the reach of the negative, and the item stays not started on it. docs.fcc.gov is open and returned nothing dated inside the window.
