“Ensure sufficient funding for warhead life extension programs (LEP), including the B61-12, W80-4, W87-1 Mod, and W88 Alt 370.”
What has happened
- Done
The appropriation followed the authorization: the Energy and Water Development title of P.L. 119-74 appropriates $20,378,000,000 for National Nuclear Security Administration Weapons Activities, to remain available until expended.
- Done
Congress funded the programs the Quote names. The FY2026 NDAA authorization table for Weapons Activities funds the B61-12 Life Extension Program at $16,000,000, the W80-4 Life Extension Program at $1,259,048,000 and the W87-1 Modification Program at $649,096,000, each at the budget request, within a Stockpile Major Modernization total of $2,830,298,000 and an overall Weapons Activities authorization of $21,028,745,000 - $954,345,000 above the request. No W88 Alt 370 line appears, the alteration having completed before the window. The Act also funds the W93 program ($806,797,000), the B61-13 ($49,357,000) and, by reconciliation adjustment, a $50,000,000 SLCM-N warhead line.

Research notes
Requires-Congress ask; done, because the ask is enacted. The authorization table of P.L. 119-60 was read line by line on govinfo.gov.
- A boundary call: three of the four warheads the Quote names carry funded lines, and the fourth (W88 Alt 370) carries none. It is read here as complete rather than unfunded, which is why the item is done and not partial. A reader who treats the missing line as an unmet quarter of the ask would move it to partial.
- The appropriation is a lump sum with no program detail, so the authorization table is what carries the per-warhead finding.
