    No bill in the 119th Congress redelegates any authority away from HUD's career staff, and none limits HUD's delegated authorities at all. The fifteen bills whose titles name the Department are reporting mandates, program authorizations and the two annual THUD appropriations bills; the enacted appropriations act (P.L. 119-75, 2026-02-03) funds HUD's existing structure. HUD itself published no delegation or redelegation of authority in the Federal Register in the window, so the executive-side half of the picture is unchanged too. Research notes

  • Among the bills we keep and search (from congress.gov), fifteen have “Housing and Urban Development” in the title, all reporting, study, program or appropriations measures; none touches the delegation of authority inside the Department.
  • Federal Register searches for “Delegation of Authority” and for “redelegation”, restricted to HUD’s documents published on or after 2025-01-20: one hit each, both false positives (a grants-administration proposed rule and the noise regulation). HUD publishes delegations of authority in the Federal Register as a matter of routine, so the absence is meaningful.
  • This ask shares its subject with #1404 (assign delegated powers to political appointees), which is the executive-action half of the same passage; both are not started.
