H.R. 272, the Protecting Life and Taxpayers Act of 2025, was referred to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce on 2025-01-09 and has had no further action; it is the only bill of that name in the 119th Congress and no Senate companion appears in the Corpus. Introduction is not action under the Requires-Congress ladder. Congress did defund Planned Parenthood by a different route - Public Law 119-21 section 71113, a one-year prohibition on federal Medicaid payments to prohibited entities - but that is a temporary Medicaid provision rather than the Act's government-wide bar on funding entities that perform abortions, and it is #1298's Evidence.
