“Repeal the federal sugar program. The federal government should not be in the central planning business, and the sugar program is a prime example of harmful central planning. Its very purpose is to limit the sugar supply in order to increase prices.”

Congress moved the other way: Sec. 10312 of the reconciliation act (P.L. 119-21, 2025-07-04) extended the sugar program through the 2031 crop year and raised the raw cane sugar loan rate to 24.00 cents per pound (beet sugar at 136.55 percent of that) with new CCC storage-rate provisions; USDA implemented the changes by rule on 2026-07-09 and continues to set marketing allotments and tariff-rate quotas. No repeal bill found.
