    One of the six guidance documents the Quote names is being rewritten; the other five are not. EPA announced it was "[o]verhauling" the social cost of carbon as one of its 31 deregulatory actions, acting on the Unleashing American Energy order's instruction to issue guidance within 60 days on eliminating the calculation from federal permitting and regulatory decisions. Nothing has been published on discount rates, the timing of regulatory review, causality of health effects, low-dose risk estimation or employment loss analysis.

  • Six guidance areas are named in the Quote. One has moved. Discount rates, the timing of regulatory review, causality of health effects, low-dose risk estimation and employment loss analysis have no EPA guidance revision in the Federal Register or on an allowlisted EPA page.
  • EO 14303 Restoring Gold Standard Science (2025-05-23) tells agencies that “[h]ighly unlikely and overly precautionary assumptions and scenarios should only be relied upon in agency decision-making where required by law” — a general instruction that touches the low-dose and causality items without naming them. Kept here as a lead rather than Evidence, because it is not an EPA guidance revision.
  • #1158 carries the narrower ask about eliminating the social cost of carbon and RCP 8.5 and reads the same record at partial; #1100 carries the linear no-threshold half separately.
