What has happened
- Not started
No update of the 1966 Coleman report has been commissioned or published, and no executive order requires one. A Federal Register full-text search for "Coleman Report" since 2025-01-20 returns zero documents. The Department's one piece of research-policy work in the window points elsewhere: on 2026-02-27 the Secretary received "Reimagining the Institute of Education Sciences", a set of recommendations from Senior Advisor Dr. Amber Northern on making IES research faster and more usable, which proposes no study of family structure and student achievement.
