The Secretary of Commerce terminated fourteen discretionary (non-statutory) federal advisory committees effective this date under EO 14217, and said so in a Federal Register notice published 2025-06-10: two BEA committees, three Census committees (the 2030 Census Advisory Committee, the Census Scientific Advisory Committee and the National Advisory Committee), five ITA committees (Supply Chain Competitiveness, Civil Nuclear Trade, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, the Investment Advisory Council and the Manufacturing Council) and four NOAA committees (Excellence in Space, Climate Services, Marine and Coastal Area-Based Management, and the Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee). `partial` and not `done` because the sweep is not stated to be complete and at least one discretionary Commerce committee survived it — the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee has met continuously since, most recently on 2026-06-16.

This is the instrument for the whole p. 666 / p. 682 advisory-committee cluster (#1819, #1820, #1895, #1896). The notice states the review the Quote asks for and its result: the Secretary “determined that the purposes for which the 14 following Discretionary Federal Advisory Committees were established have been fulfilled, and the committees have been terminated”, effective 2025-02-28, under EO 14217 Commencing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy. Why partial and not done (§3, open-ended “all X” asks): the notice does not say the review covered every discretionary committee, and the surviving Commerce advisory bodies are a mix — most are statutory (the NOAA Science Advisory Board, the Sea Grant Advisory Board, the Ocean Exploration Advisory Board, the Ocean Research Advisory Panel, NIST’s Information Security and Privacy Advisory Board and Advisory Committee on Earthquake Hazards Reduction, the BIS technical advisory committees under 50 U.S.C. 4816) but the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee is discretionary and has gone on meeting (FR notices of 2025-11-24, 2026-01-23, 2026-04-10, 2026-05-18 and 2026-06-16).
