“The Administration should eliminate the 25-member Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity.”

What has happened

  1. Done

The committee was terminated. The General Services Administration's Federal Advisory Committee Act database, which Treasury's own committee management officer populates, records the Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity (committee no. 84649, established 2022-03-22 under EO 13985, chartered for up to 25 members) with Committee Status "Terminated", an Actual Termination Date of 2025-02-04, "Terminated This FY: Yes" for FY2025, and the agency's own recommendation to terminate "in accordance with the requirements of Executive Order 14151, Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEI Programs and Preferencing". It no longer appears among Treasury's thirteen FY2026 committees. The named object is in the asked-for state, fifteen days after the order.

  2. Attempted

Executive Order 14151 section 2(b) requires each agency head, within sixty days, to terminate all DEI and DEIA offices and positions and to inventory every DEI "committee" in existence on 4 November 2024 — language that reaches the 25-member Treasury Advisory Committee on Racial Equity by name of function. The committee has left no trace in the evidence window: a Federal Register full-text search for the quoted phrase "Advisory Committee on Racial Equity" since 2025-01-20 returns zero documents, where the Federal Advisory Committee Act requires charter filings, membership solicitations and meeting notices to be published there, and Treasury's own sitemap retains no page for it. No dated termination record was found.

Research notes

The Federal Register silence is the strongest signal available to an agent: a live federal advisory committee cannot meet without notice in the Federal Register, and there has been none for nineteen months. It is not proof of formal termination, which is why this is attempted and not done.

The General Services Administration’s FACA database settled it on 2026-09-06 (read-queue residue, read in Chrome — the site is a Salesforce application that renders nothing to a script, and its FACAPublicCommittee path now redirects to a login page, but the public agency and committee pages under /FACA/s/ open in a browser). Treasury’s FY2026 list holds thirteen committees, none of them TACRE; the Terminated/Merged tab lists TACRE with fiscal year 2025, and the committee record carries the termination date and the EO 14151 remark quoted in the event note. The record’s Committee URL, home.treasury.gov/about/offices/equity-hub/TACRE, now answers 403 like the rest of the equity-hub path. #1993 carries the same record for the committee limb of its three objects.
