Printed page 372 12. Department of Energy and Related Commissions
“End ineffective and counterproductive nonproliferation activities like those involving Iran and the United Nations.”
What has happened
- Not started
No termination or curtailment of NNSA nonproliferation activities involving Iran or the United Nations was found. The Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation (NA-20) remains on the DOE organization chart of 3 August 2026 with its offices intact, and no Federal Register document, presidential action or public law was found ending any Iran- or UN-related nonproliferation program.
No action found yet. This entry is the starting point, not a finding.

Research notes
Negative search: a search of the Federal Register records we keep and search for DOE and NNSA documents titled with nonproliferation, Iran, International Atomic Energy Agency or United Nations returned nothing; a search of the presidential documents we keep for Iran returned only national-emergency continuations and the February 2026 EO Addressing Threats to the United States by the Government of Iran, which is a sanctions instrument and says nothing about NNSA programs.
DOE’s 10 CFR 810 rule Assistance to Foreign Atomic Energy Activities (24 November 2025 and 16 June 2026) is an export-control rule, not a nonproliferation-program termination.
