    Nothing found. Neither the National Assessment of Educational Progress nor the NAEP Data Explorer has added a family-structure variable, and no ED action in the window proposes one. The most recent NAEP collection notice in the window (the NAEP 2027 paperwork request of 2025-12-18) adds no such variable. The Secretary did direct NCES to collect new data in the window - on universities' race data in admissions, on 2025-08-07 - which shows the Department will add collections when it wants to; family structure was not among them.

  • Negative search: Federal Register full text for “family structure” together with “National Assessment of Educational Progress” since 2025-01-20 returns zero documents; the four NAEP paperwork notices in the window (2025-05-15, 2025-08-04, 2025-10-02, 2025-12-18) are the 2026 and 2027 collections and their amendments, and none adds such a variable; ED’s press index for 2025-2026 carries NAEP score statements and National Assessment Governing Board appointments and nothing on family structure.
  • The Quote’s parenthesis - “or whichever agency collects such data long term” - anticipates the transfer asked for in #823, which has not happened either.
