   The FY2026 NDAA reweights the sectors rather than republishing the list: sec. 832 requires enhanced defense supply chain resilience and secondary source qualification, sec. 838 requires an assessment of Department-owned critical infrastructure dependent on foreign materials or components, and sec. 842 prohibits acquiring advanced batteries from certain foreign sources — a reprioritization away from the electric-vehicle battery entry the Quote names. Public Law 119-21 had already put $2 billion into the National Defense Stockpile for critical minerals and $200 million and $400 million into the established and emerging solid rocket motor industrial base.
