“Within the Office of Nuclear Energy budget, approximately $100 million is set aside for fuel cycle and waste management activities. These funds should be transferred to the newly established OCRWM, which should also be responsible for managing the Nuclear Waste Fund and given access to the fund as necessary to carry out its responsibilities.”
What has happened
- Not started
No transfer of the Office of Nuclear Energy's fuel cycle and waste management funds, or of responsibility for the Nuclear Waste Fund, took place: the receiving office does not exist (see #1008), P.L. 119-74 appropriates nuclear waste disposal money from the Fund under the Nuclear Waste Disposal heading as before, and Nuclear Energy's appropriation was enlarged rather than divided.
