Denounce placing climate change ahead of food productivity
Printed page 293 10. Department of Agriculture
“Proactively Defend Agriculture. From the outset, the next Administration should: Denounce efforts to place ancillary issues like climate change ahead of food productivity and affordability when it comes to agriculture.”

USDA publicly denounced the priority the Mandate objects to and acted on the denunciation in the same breath. Release 0094.25 (2025-05-01) says the Secretary "directed USDA to review Inflation Reduction Act funding … to ensure that programs are focused on supporting farmers and ranchers, not DEI programs or far-left climate programs", and announces cancellation of the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities as a "Green New Scam slush fund"; release 0091.25 (2025-04-30) lists "a climate slush fund" among the "woke programs that don't put Farmers First". The ask is a statement of priorities, and it was made in the department's own words on the record.

Research notes
- This is a communications ask, so done rests on the department saying the thing, not on a program outcome. The program consequences are tracked on #760 (review of efforts imposing preferred practices) and #757 (U.N. sustainable-development schemes).
- Counter-current worth naming: the canceled climate-smart program was relaunched as Advancing Markets for Producers (NRCS, FR 2026-02625, 2026-02-10), and EO 14414 (2026-06-25) commits the administration to “significantly increase Federal investment in regenerative agriculture practices”. Neither retracts the 2025 statement, so the Status stands; both belong to #760’s reading.
