“Identify every Treasury official who participated in DEI initiatives and interview him or her for the purpose of determining the scope and nature of these initiatives and to ensure that such initiatives are completely ended.”

What has happened

The record moved nearby and reached neither half of this ask. Executive Order 14151 section 2(b)(ii) requires each agency head, within sixty days, to give OMB a list of all agency DEI, DEIA and environmental justice "positions, committees, programs, services, activities, budgets, and expenditures in existence on November 4, 2024, and an assessment of whether these … have been misleadingly relabeled in an attempt to preserve their pre-November 4, 2024 function". That inventories posts and programs, not the officials who took part in them — a far wider class — and it requires no interview of anyone; nothing in the order, in Office of Personnel Management guidance or in any Treasury instrument asks that participants be identified or questioned about the scope and nature of the initiatives. No allowlisted record shows Treasury's list being compiled or acted on either.

Research notes

The lists Executive Order 14151 requires go to OMB and are not published, so whether Treasury produced one cannot be established from an allowlisted source. That is the limiting fact on this item and on #1995 and #1997.

Queries: the Treasury sitemap and press and statements indexes 2025-2026 for DEI|diversity|equity|interview|review; Federal Register full text.

Re-leveled 2026-09-01 (ticket 26 phase 2, page-seam batch), attempted → not started. Executive Order 14151 carried four Recommendations on this printed page at the same rung: #1993 and #1998, whose objects — the Counselor for Racial Equity, the Advisory Committee on Racial Equity and the DEIA office — are named by function in section 2(b) and are ordered terminated and inventoried by it, and #1996 and this item, whose objects are not. The order reaches those two much further than it reaches this ask, so the rungs cannot be the same: an inventory of DEI positions is not an identification of every official who participated, and no instrument asks for the interviews at all. Progress is measured on this ask (playbook §3b). The 2025-01-20 event is corrected in place under §3b’s fourth rule — the date and the Primary Evidence stay and the note now says the record moved nearby — rather than replaced, because nothing new was found: the leveling moved, not the record. #1996 (notable, attempted) rests on the same order and its own note says “no instrument adopts it”; it is reported to the ticket-26 coordinator rather than edited here.
