“The HUD Secretary should move the HUD Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC) from PIH to the Office of Housing, which already implements property standards in its multifamily housing lending programs through the multifamily accelerated processing (MAP) lending guidelines.”

REAC is still in the Office of Public and Indian Housing. HUD's own Privacy Act notice of 2026-07-06 rescinding the One Stop Customer Service system of records identifies it as "the Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH), Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC)" system, and REAC's page on hud.gov sits under `/program_offices/public_indian_housing/reac`. No Federal Register document, HUD press release or delegation of authority in the window announces a move to the Office of Housing, and the Secretary's reorganizations of 2025–26 — the headquarters move, the DOGE task force, the regional-administrator appointments — do not touch it.

- A Federal Register full-text search for “Real Estate Assessment Center” over the whole window returns eight documents; all eight place REAC inside PIH or are unrelated (a 2025 SES notice, a regulatory-waiver report, voucher information collections).
- The property-standards half of the Mandate’s argument did move without the reorganization: HUD’s National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE) compliance dates were extended twice in 2025 and the standards were extended to further programs in 2026.
