What has happened
- Done
Continued: P.L. 119-74 appropriates $206,325,000 for SPR facility development and operations, and DOE finalized its acquisition procedures rule on 14 July 2025. The Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office states the objective of filling the Reserve to maximum capacity while maintaining drawdown readiness.
- Done
P.L. 119-21 section 50401 repealed the Strategic Petroleum Reserve drawdown and sale mandate in section 20003 of P.L. 115-97 and appropriated $218,000,000 for maintenance of and repairs to SPR storage facilities plus $171,000,000 to buy petroleum for the Reserve. The politically driven sale mandate is gone and the Reserve is being refilled.
